We are now in the second semester and I am back in Help Desk to learn more about technology. After the first semester I am happy I took this class because I learn a new thing about tech every week. The past couple weeks we have been learning about a couple of different things. One of those things is learning how to create a game, we did a tutorial on how to make a game with a character that runs through a course and jumps on blocks. This was interesting because I have always played games like this but never thought about how these games were created. Its good to see both sides now, it really makes you appreciate the game and how much time and effort was put not it by the creators. Another thing that we have been doing is playing with these little robot balls that roll around on the floor that you can control with an app on your phone. This is so cool because it is all done via bluetooth and its crazy to know that you can control a little ball with your phone. I am excited to keep learning in this class.

This week in Technology Integration we prepared and then participated in CS Ed Week. CS Ed week was where a bunch of speakers who do various jobs came to speak to us. I got to listen to Jade Brewer, she is a drone pilot for GraVoc. She talked to us about the flights she does as a drone pilot, the places she goes and her normal routine while executing a drone flight. She pulled up a map that shows her where she can and can't go along with, special airports and schools. She also discussed the drones that she uses and what is her favorite.(Mavic) Then she told us about a drone racing simulator on steam that you can use a VR with, she said that it would help us learn how to fly if we ever wanted to become a drone pilot. Overall I liked Ms. Brewers presentation.
The past couple of weeks in Technology Integration we have been learning how to fly the Mavic drone with out hands. This is a very cool feature, it allows you to fly the drone with simple hand movements such as raising your hand to make the drone fly up and lowering your hand to have it descend back to regular altitude. We have also been looking into AWS and what it has to offer in terms of learning material. Specifically we learned about Cloud Computing and how it is used in the Tech world today. Cloud Computing is the storage and accessing of data and computing services over the internet. This means that the storage is an on-demand availability of computer services such as, server, data storage, networking and databases. Some benefits of Cloud Computing are cost efficiency, speed and business community planning. Some big name companies that part take in Cloud Computing are AWS, Google, IBM, Salesforce and Oracle to name a few. One example of something that would be considered Cloud Computing is the storage of Netflix data at an actual warehouse with all of its information, movies, tv shows, ect. They are all made available in the "Cloud" and can easily be sent to your personal device when called upon. The first week of Help Desk was filled with learning of drones and how they work. We had a chance to learn about drone safety and even got to fly the Parrot Drones around the library. Then we got to fly the Mavic Drone outside and that was a cool experience. With it going up almost 200 ft and traveling to the end of the student parking lot. We also started to learn about the new Mosyle Device Manager that is going on the iPads of the students here at BHS. Some students were coming down needing help restarting/installing the software and some needed help resetting their password.
